StampWorld.com catalogue numbers shown unless otherwise stated. The date under the country name and number is the year on the postmark if it can be seen, otherwise, the year the stamp was first issued10 October62 ARGENTINA #300 & #294 1929 General San Martin with no period after the value first issued in 1924. This "on piece" was scheduled to go VIA AEREA from Buenos Aires.Since I only found one item for today, I will disclose how I go about contributing to this topic. I digitize any items I own by country. From the country files I pull out anything with a readable date. I do supplement my readable dates with interesting items I see online and it all gets filed by date so I am ready to upload. However, while uploading images, I search catalogue numbers and attempt to determine the name of the post office. Sometimes that name triggers a query. That is what happens when I go to Google or other maps. I satisfy my curiosity and maybe yours. I try to avoid mistakes, but if you see I have made one, it is appreciated when you are able to inform me of my errors. Like playing cards or bingo, somedays, my number just does not come up, or I will have just one entry like today. For me this is a challenge, educational and fun. And that is why I do it. Thank you for viewing. 52614 |

The date under the country name and number is the year on the postmark if it can be seen, otherwise, the year the stamp was first issued22 OctoberTRINIDAD 1890 Catalogue #34,1883 Queen Victoria, two-pence and a half-penny postmarked on receipt 22OC90 at Barbados as a ship letter. GUAM 1901 Catalogue number 11, 1899 U.S. postage stamp overprinted. In 1901, the primary post office on Guam (located in the capital of Agana/Hagåtña) utilized a circular date stamp (cds) cancellation mark that included the historical name Ladrone (specifically inscribed as "GUAM/LADRONE ISL'S."). The name comes from Islas de los Ladrones ("Islands of Thieves"), a Spanish colonial designation for the Mariana Islands. Because the term was offensive to the indigenous Chamorro population, the postmark was officially discontinued and replaced on April 1, 1903, with an inscription reading "GUAM/ISL. GUAM" ECUADOR 1872 Ecuador S.G. # 10 postmarked at Latacunga.** An internet outage left me high and dry for 8 days beginning Sunday October 12. Then I had to play catch up with all my online activities. Those missed dates will be posted next year. 53226 |
