Got 2 stamp auctions coming in next few days . Looking around at what is being offered . Made a list of what would be fun to work on . Something that will be different and would take a few weeks to develop into a nice album . |

GT350 ANNY ---Thanks ,today is the first day of a two day auction . Had a list of a few lots , one on the list was a bulk worldwide lot ,just to have something for the football season sort of a junk lot to work on while in front of the T.V. I guess a lot of midwest dealers shown up to build their inventory for the last time sort of load up at this last auction for Rasdale . Guess to get a whole years supply ,because the prices were aggressive for the bulk lots , so the idea of me getting a t.v. junk lot did not work here at this last auction . Prices wasn't something I wanted to chase . But picked up two lots both British Colonies , so the separate country lots didn't run like the junk lots . Still got one small lot near the end of the auction to go after . Lost out on a few lots . Prices are what I expected but wasn't going to push any lot . This auction has a lot of material so had time to paint some outdoor furniture between lots I wanted to watch . So will return tomorrow for the seperate lots there are two complete set lots will try for , so another long day to bid ,maybe wash and wax the truck if it don't rain while waiting thru the auction .First a morning run to McDucks for a $1.00 ice coffee . They start making the drink when they see me walk in . |

Sounds like a pretty productive day. I had never dealt with Rasdale before and I tried to attend via SAN this morning and obviously had no idea they only use SAN for pre bidding. I was going to try and register through their website but noticed they asked for a minimum of 72 hours lead time so I simply scrapped that idea. We were out and about today anyway which means I'm driving so it would have been spotty at best. Not to mention I won one lot earlier this week and generally speaking have been spending it up on stamps this year!

It is midnight and the Rasdale Stamp Auction is still going on since 10:00 AM , this has to be the longest stamp auction in history . I believe I was on and off their website over 15 times . Twice was signed in during lunch break and made the mistake again for a 45 min. supper break . Day wasn't lost ,wash the first floor floors , painted furniture , watch the t.v. news , worked on a stamp stock book while watching NFL delayed football game , Not going to wait until the end of the auction . |

Hit 260,000 views this week ,neat ! The first page of Croatia .Shown the first set previous but found this second set on a stock card . Waiting for my purchases from Rasdale Stamp Auctions , Made it a point to buy one of the last auction lots that the firm sold in their years of running stamp auctions . Kind of a keepsake for me . |

Every collector who purchases large lots or bulk lots ends up getting material that they just don't care about or want . It has been my habit to buy at stamp auctions a end of auction fun lot to work on at various times . To me it is a purchase of entertainment value . Here is a example of such a item ,the answer is no ,I would not buy this material but it was neat to build this page since it cost me just about nothing . |

I am poster boy for such material lol. I should say was; since I've restructured my acquisition strategy I'm happy to report that I've resisted purchasing any new oddball stuff but I do have plenty in the que that I'm working through. |

GT350 ----Well for me it is just a fun way to relax , building a page of stamps . I don't think I could explain any better . Cost was zip-o ,not 2 dollars for page printing and stamps included . My wife thinks my new hobby is printing pages . |

TLDR
That's funny Floortrader. I'm just trying to focus a bit more. Winging it has got me thus far it has also netted me a trove of duplicates and then some. Decided I should make some notes as I'm in the albums as to what I may need be it a country that I have little of (Timor) for a real example. the other day working thru the mange T folder I noticed that I have almost nothing from Timor.
Timor is my first recorded example I have no doubt there will be more. My more specialized country collections such as Canada, GB, US I'm almost and in many cases already at the Scott number level.
I was going thru some Canada the other day and I had several hundred face MNH in glasslines so I went thru and reconciled that with my album and sure enough I had hinged copies in the album and a NH copy in the dupes. Bad on me so I went thru three volumes and flipped all the MH over for easy identification. Next project will to get those Scott numbers to alleviate the guessing. Small part of the problem there is dealing with a hingeless album. In my ww collection if its in a mount then its either NH or a fragile paper so I know going in what I'm looking at. I should have set my Canada upside down when I moved into it but I didn't.
