The history behind the FDC of AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service)-in 1908 the Commonwealth of Australia passed the Quarantine Act to protect it's peoples and industries from diseases, and overseas pests and animals.
"So when you see an AQIS beagle at the airport, it is worth remembering that he is the most visible sign of a long history of preventing the introduction of destructive pests that threaten Australia's flora and fauna, and primary industries." Very interesting!

One thing about flying into Australia that made an impression on me was that they wouldn't let you off the plane if your shoes were dirty; a steward came through the cabin and sprayed it with disinfectant before they opened the doors; and your shot card was checked as soon as you entered the airport. Didn't see any of this in Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, or any of the states.

Modern, I lived in Lancaster Ohio and the main drag there being Memorial drive was at one point in history a long stretch of the Erie canal.
It's about 3 blocks from General Sherman's house, on Main st.
It was filled in and was used by street cars early on and then made into the road it is today. Part of route 33 or 37 (can't remember).
Sounds like you need to come back to Australia for a Holiday, I'll get the room ready lol.

Cute Dogs Golovacz and Emma.

By the way Bandicoot does Emma collect birds, butterflies etc. I have an Envelope marked for her that I add to as I'm sorting.
