This nicely engraved propaganda label of 1916 reads "We want defeat (of our enemy)...we will win!" I'm guessing that there was a contribution to the French Red Cross for these labels. The labels were overprinted in 1919 to celebrate the Peace Treaty of St. Germaine-en-Laye between the victorious Allies and the Republic of German-Austria. Among other things, the treaty reduced Austria's size by approximately 60%. |

Rod ---Nice collection of French T-Seal stamps . On your page you have spaces for a vertical 1934 and 1935 stamps ,should they have been spaces for two Horizontal stamps. |

Thank you FT, Quote: should they have been spaces for two Horizontal stamps. Right. If I manage to get them in the future, I'll mount them sideways, until I make a new page. I think I have a black and whit pic, of all the issues somewhere image: not mine |

Another cinderella for the catalog. These nicely engraved Gen. Joffre labels were produced for/by "Societe Francaise de Timbrologie." I am guessing that the engravers were "F. Lefort & Gromier, Gr" as shown on the close-up of the lower left corner of the cinderella. These cinderellas were printed in several colors. Unfortunately, this is only a clipping, but it does show that Societe Francaise de Timbrologie mailed the letter. |
