I ride thousands of miles on my motorcycle each year on a quest for dams in the Pacific North West..... http://www.damtour.com/index.html

Being from the Pacific NW and being the outdoors type, I thought to myself "I've probably been to all the dams on your list and then some!". To my surprise, of those listed on your website, I've only been to 3 of the dams in Oregon and none in Washington (3 out of 16). Great list of out of the way locations and beautiful scenery!

Here is an image of a stamp depicting the Génissiat Dam in the Department of Ain, the first hydroelectric dam and power plant built on the Rhône river, designed and engraved by Gabriel-Antoine Barlangue, and issued by France on September 21, 1948 to celebrate the dam's completion that year, Scott No. 697, Y&T No. 817.

A set from the Soviet Union (Scott 1085-6) issued in 1946 to commemorate the reconstruction of the Dnieprostroy Dam and Hydroelectric Power Station:

The dams change every year with only a few repeats..... 2012 will be my fifth year.... Got all 20 each year so far! This years list will be up in a week or so ready for the March 1st start.

motoman I will find you some dams...this is the only one I would not want to part with..the first FDC I ever sent away for when I was stationed in Southern Italy with too much time on my hands..the cover is a little beat up..i did not know much about stuffing an envelope..i don't think I have another cover I might possibly have the stamp but I know I have a lot of dams on cover !!

heres one I WOULD part with...pair of an Argentine dam..i reversed the envelope for a better view of the stamps !!

Here is an image of an unidentified hydroelectric power plant dam, designed by V. Hájek, engraved by Jan Mrácek, and issued by Czechoslovakia on May 8, 1953 to publicize socialist construction, Scott No. 595, SG No. 766.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting the dam at Foum el Gherza, located 20 km east of the city of Biskra, Algeria, and completed in 1950, designed by Jacques Combet, engraved by Pierre Munier, and issued by France on May 23, 1959 to publicize French engineering and construction prowess, Scott No. 920, Y&T No. 1203.
