That's right, a discussion about stamps having to do with ping-pong. There are, in fact quite a few stamps related to table tennis. To start it off, here's a Recently issued GB 'paralympic games' one.

Paddle, ball and olive branch, printed by photogravure, and issued by Hungary on August 30, 1958 as one of seven stamps in a sports set designed by Hungarian artists Jozsef Vertel and Tibor Gonczi Gebhardt, Scott No. 1203, SG No. 1527.

I didn't get any tickets for the olympics but if I had to choose a sport to go and watch it would definitely be Table Tennis.

Here are images of a couple of stamps depicting a determined table tennis player, designed by Czeslaw Slania and G. Nyström after a photo by R. Holmqvist, engraved by Czeslaw Slania, and issued by Sweden on April 11, 1967 to publicize the World Table-tennis Championships, played in Stockholm April 11-24, Scott Nos. 726 & 725, Facit Nos. 602B and 603.

Mixed Doubles table tennis, designed and engraved by René Quillivic, and issued by France on December 17, 1977 to commemorate the French team's gold medal in that event at the 1977 World Table Tennis Championships, held in Birmingham, England, and the 50th anniversary of the Fédération Française de Tennis de Table (FFTT), Scott No. 1558, Y&T No. 1961. Who wears short shorts?

1958 Hungary, European Championship, photogravure, 3o fillér. Designer Tibor Gönczi (the designer of the 2o fillér stamp, presented by nethryk is Józsf Vertel, and he is also the designer of the 4o fillér issue- wrestling. In 1958 in Hungary were held the Amateur Wrestling European Championship, the Swimming European Championship and the Table Tennis European Championship, all comemorated by one set of seven stamps)



1968 Sowiet Union, Youth European Tabel Tennis Championship, offset.
