A nice news article of interest to stamp collectors, particularly those interested in events for the 50th Annversary of the Cardinal Spellman Philatelic Museum and the 300th Anniversary of the Town of Weston, Massachusetts.

In fact, a pictorial postmark is even being planned for the Weston, MA Tercentennary:

Quote:
On Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27, the museum will host Weston Welcome Weekend, which will offer exciting activities for visitors of all ages. A special postmark honoring Weston's tercentennial will be issued in the post office in the museum.

I'm a member at Spellman (about 10 minutes drive from my place). Their collections are pretty great and the curator there (George) is extremely knowledgeable. They just had their annual stamp bazaar last week and it was packed! Their store also has supplies at good prices (10% off for members).

Cheers
Ram

wt1: Thanks for the heads up; I grew up in Weston (class of '55) and have fond memories of the school and town. I now live in Maine, so the Spellman is a bit of a distance and I visit only occasionally.

I do have a cover with a Weston address and a Black Jack stamp and will post it when we return to Maine from Florida.

Donald
