Those are absolutelty adorable OldGum. Thanks for sharing them with us. I am a 'Cat person' and we've always had at least 2 cats in our home. Dianne |

I too, am a cat person. Your last post cards prove my line the "... cats are people, too".

Another cat fan checking in! The first group are cute. Does the squeeze card still work? I've never seen any like the second group. I do like that the dogs are harnessed to the car's wagon! As the old saying goes, "dogs have masters, cats have staff!" Sorry stampydampy |

e7sara, yes it does still squeek! Notice the hole between the sender's words "back" & "soon". It let's the air in and the sound out.
Did anyone see in the last card that one cat is using the confusion to lift the wallet of another?
Anyway, I'm glad you all liked them! OG |

You probably already know this but the group of cards at the bottom are produced by Alfred Mainzer. There are several sites which describe their history. (just read the Stamp Community rules and as a new member, I cannot post links. But if you go to Google and type in Mainzer Cat Postcards, you can learn all about them) |

I like cats more than most . . . and I still find the cat-people kind of freaky. I like the irony of them having a pet dog. Cool collection! |

The original poster showed some great anthropomorphic cat postcards, but didn't give a description (country of origin? Artist?). Here is another one. This one is from Germany, but the artist is not credited. Caption says "Honor our great master!" I would guess that the cats are being sarcastic about the statue of the little girl with the hoop. After all, humans are pretty poor acrobats, compared to cats. I've seen other, similar cards by the same artist. Card was sent from Frankfurt A/M to Oschersleben. Postmark is 18 October, 1937. |
