These two were part of a (West)German 1972 definitive series titled Accident Prevention. Same design also used for West Berlin inscribed "Berlin" I think they are self explanatory. Scott 1077 Scott 1081 NB: Replaced my missing images. |

Canada issued this stamp in 1966 to promote Highway Safety. Scott/Unitrade 447 About the stamp Unitrade catalogue notes: This stamp was issued with Davac gum, clear and tasteless. This was a vast improvement over the dextrine gum which as I recall tasted like crap. Specially after licking a hundred stamps for Christmas mail. It reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George's fiance dies after licking envelopes of wedding initations. Come to think of it, nowadays almost anything reminds me about something of the past. I believe Davac gum was used only for one more Canadian issue and by the late sixties all gum was PVA. NB: Replaced my missing images |
