Here is an image of an engraved airmail stamp depicting the coat of arms of Santiago, issued by Chile on October 18, 1958 to publicize the National Philatelic Exhibition held in Santiago, Scott No. C194, SG No. 470.

Coat of arms of Romania, printed by photogravure (in Munich, Germany), and issued by Romania on October 15, 1922 in conjunction with the coronation of Ferdinand (1865-1927) as King of Romania in a spectacular ceremony on that date at the historic princely seat of Alba Iulia, in Transylvania, Scott No. 285, SG No. 646, plus an image of Romania's modern coat of arms (sans the crowns) in color.

Here is an image of a semi-postal stamp depicting the coat of arms of Philip III, the Good, Duke of Burgundy (1396-1467), designed and engraved by Jean De Bast, and issued by Belgium on July 4, 1959, Scott No. B652. Philip's heraldic motto (there are alternate spellings) was "Aultre n'auray" – "I will have no other."

nethryk, I think that B652 semi-postal is one of the most beautiful stamps I have ever seen! Thanks for posting it.

RonD - Thanks! I'm glad you liked that Jean De Bast masterpiece, too.

Here is an image of a stamp depicting the coat of arms of Fiji, engraved and printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co., and issued for use in Fiji on July 1, 1954, Scott No. 155, SG No. 288. The motto reads: Rerevaka na kalou ka doka na Tui ("Fear God and honour the Queen").

I know lot of peoples that collect this topic, but never meet any serious collection on exhibit - really don't know why, probably because too much stamp of it around?

Even that modern period (because quality of printing) have better design and "picture", I still like this one:

Here is an image of a stamp depicting the coat of arms of the Roman Catholic Archbishopric of Asunción, engraved and printed by Security Banknote Company, and issued by Paraguay on January 6, 1948 as one of a set of twelve stamps commemorating the 50th anniversary (in 1945) of the archbishopric, Scott No. 448. Note that in this stamp's design the Latin word focis appears to be misspelled as "fogis" in the archbishopric's motto, Pro aris et focis, ("For our altars and hearths"), Fortiter et Suaviter ("Strength and Gentleness").
