Hello, Just to let you know cddstamps - by popular request - has started listing our stock in our online store with both Scott and SG catalogue references.

We just listed over 350 GB Machins all with Scott numbers. Perhaps you will find what you are looking for much easier now, if you want to fill a few gaps in your collection.

Or, you can search by value just type the face value of the stamp eg 9p and you will find all listings for the 9p Machins, both Scott and SG.

Sorry but we cannot ( well at the moment) back load Scott numbers for the 2000 plus Machins we have in the store.

Enjoy your collecting Michael cddstamps.com or go direct to the store by copying this link https://www.hipstamp.com/store/cddstamps

wow, 2 years just gone by. Why have we been so quiet? I should write more ....but here I am to let you know cddstamps now have over 39,000 listings in our online store and over 14,000 positive feedbacks. Please visit and enjoy looking at the nearly 3000 GB Machins and Security Machins, and 13000 other GB with 23000 British Commonwealth. Some cheaper and some more expensive material - should be able to suit all budgets.

And, all our stock since 2017 is listed with SG and Scott catalogue references

So this thread is 3 years old, but checking out CDD's HipStamps "store", I see only Stanley Gibbons catalog numbers for the Machin Heads.

I went to his site, searched on Great Britain, sub category Great Britain, Machin. I see some with both. Maybe you just looked at older listings.

Hello, Thank you for visiting our store. I am very sorry you did not find the Scott numbers on Machins very easily. Yes there are the older listings We have had the store since 2006 so there are still many Machins without the Scott number.

There are many hundreds over recent years with Scott - all new listings have a Scott number. also the search engine is not the most sophisticated in this regard but please try this https://www.hipstamp.com/store/cdds...ywords=Scott copy paste that link it may help a bit .. or when in the Store type the Scott number you are looking for in the Search Keywords, "Search in this Store" field say for example MH58 and you will find the Scott listings we have for that 6p stamp.

I hope that helps. Also please note sometimes it is very difficult to match SG to Scott and, SG changed their numbering a year or two back. It gets to be a challenge to list as well as to collect. We have many happy Machin customers. I do hope you can find a few minutes to have another look. Or even write to me and we will do whatever we can to help. Have a great day Michael cddstamps

For Machins, It is not an easy task to correlate Scott to SG as SG lists so many more. One Scott number often is multiple SG numbers because Scott ignores tagging. Now Scott does list thick/thin values and not all these map to an SG Concise number.

If this is how you identify Machin stamps, you or not really using SG.

Ha. In that case, the difference is litho vs gravure printing.

If you are not even able to distinguish between those two: most European album producers will assign spaces to each type of printing.

Thank you for pointing out my error Perhaps at the time I was unsure it was a while ago. I have corrected it. The stamp is SG 1668 Gravure as was correctly advised.

I appreciate you taking the time to tell me. Thank you
