To publicize the 1968 PRAGA International Stamp Exhibition, Czechoslovakia issued on October 30, 1967 a set of engraved stamps show previous stamp exhibition sites held in years 1962-1967. The stamps were designed by Jaroslav Lukavsky and engraved by Ladislav Jirka and Josef Hercik. Each stamp has tab with inscription "World Stamp Exhibition" in Czech and in the local language of the place depicted on the stamp.

A Journey through Beautiful Bratislava!

Bratislava, the beautiful city on the rivers Danube and Morava, is the capital of Slovakia. During years 1977-1990, Czechoslovakia issued a large series contains 14 sets of two stamps each entitled "Historic Bratislava". The stamps show mainly different paintings of Bratislava. In the next posts I will show these great engraved stamps by order of date.

Coat of Arms of Bratislava, 1436.
Bratislava's coat of arms, granted in 1436 by Sigismund of Luxembourg, shows a silver three-towered fort on a red Gothic background. It appears in the right corner of all this series stamps.
