National Flower (1979 - 1996)
Engraver unknown

National Flower (plum blossom) is a long-running issue with very large printing quantity. It succeeded Double Carp II (1969-1978), and was replaced by Dragons Circling Two Carps (1997-), as the high-denomination definitive issue for the everyday postal use. All the National Flower stamps were printed in intaglio by CEPW.

CEPW uses a combination of intaglio and offset processes to print some of the modern stamps. In case of Ferns I and Ferns II the technique produces 3D effect on the leaves in each design.
