cjd, The stamp floating past the back of your boat has a duplex type D17 postmark, canceller device number 15. They were the first type to have the NSW obliterator half in horizontal bars instead of concentric ovals.

Your 'SYDNEY' being different to the D17 of the postmarks shown by Cjd and me and also different to the D19 from White, which type would you assign to that version of 15?

these would be "Time at top" and "Time in Middle"

Silly me, mine is a D19 of course

First issue, known used 17 October 1900 to 11 June 1902. So, mine is a LKD

Sorry, I don't have a 15 device of White type D17.
