Adding pre-decimal commemoratives to my Great Britain collection - can anyone show the difference between the Timson and Thrissell printings of the 2 1/2 and 3d Post Office Savings Bank stamps from 1961? I have a Stanley Gibbons catalog, but the verbal description of the differences unfortunately isn't enough for me.

As far as I can make out:
Left: Thrissell
Right: Timson

SG states the portrait of the former is lighter (grey black). Note also the difference in the fraction of the value.

Left: Thrissell
Right: Timson
SG states the portrait of the former is dull, lacking in contrast.
The Timson is a much deeper colour.

My scan looks a bit dusty, but it should still provide enough detail. I'm thinking Timson, based on portrait and the right-side fraction's denominator.

It is extremely difficult to see from this image. The lack of contrast makes me think it is a Thrissell printing. But that could be due to the scan.

But I agree the fraction looks more like the Timson one.

I find absolutely no difference in fraction values.
Certainly a difference in black hue.
"Toggling" both stamps, was humourous in the dancing of the little white dot in the leaves of the flowers.
