On July 3, 1998, Canada issued a pair of 45c values commemorating the 125th anniversary of Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The two stamps were printed together on one sheet of 20 (4 x 5) in a horizontally se-tenant fashion with printed labels between each stamp. This stamp (Sc #1583) from the set depicts a police detective using an illuminated magnifying glass and a computer to compare fingerprints.

Here is the 5c value (Sc#46) from Tuvalu's May 4, 1977 four-stamp set commemorating the 30th anniversary of the South Pacific Commission. Stamp depicts a microscope.

This 50c value (Sc #686) of Canada is from the February 6, 1976 Montreal Olympic Games 'Arts' (10th series) three-stamp set. Symbols of the arts are shown, including opera glasses with the handle inscribed (copyright) 1976.

On November 23, 2004 South Africa issued a minisheet of ten different self-adhesive, domestic letter rate stamps commemorating the 10th anniversary of the country's national police. One of the stamps (Sc #1344d) from this sheet recognizes forensic science and it depicts a microscope.

On November 20, 1972 Qatar issued an eight-stamp set commemorating U.N. Day (October 24, 1972). The 2 dirham value (Sc #324) of the set features UNESCO and shows a surveyor with a theodolite.

This 20 liras value (Sc #2147) of Turkey is from the April 28, 1980 EUROPA "Famous People" set of three stamps. Turkish dermatologist Dr. Hulusi Behcet (1889-1948) and his microscope are depicted.

On December 14, 1962 Cuba issued a Fight Against Malaria set of three stamps. The 1c value (Sc #757) of the set shows a microscope.

Two of the six values from New Zealand's February 12, 1997 Millennium Series (1st issue) 'Discoverers of New Zealand' show optical instruments. The 40c low value (Sc #1413) depicts Captain James Cook and a sextant, and the $1.80 high value (Sc #1418) shows Abel Tasman and a nautical telescope.

On August 6, 1986 Zambia issued a four-stamp set commemorating the passing of Halley's Comet by the Earth. The 2 kwacha value (Sc #356) of this set shows a young boy using binoculars to view the comet. Then, on October 14, 1987 various recent issues were surcharged, including the 2 kwacha Halley's Comet stamp. It was revalued at 10 kwacha (Sc #413).

This 30 fr value (Sc #762) of France is from the March 5, 1955 French Inventors and Researchers set of six stamps. Stamp depicts engineer and industrialist Hilaire Bernigaud de Chardonnet (1839-1924) and a microscope. Chardonnet invented a synthetic silk material.

From wikipedia, "He called his new invention 'Chardonnet silk' and displayed it in the Paris Exhibition of 1889. Unfortunately, Charbonnet's material was extremely flammable, and was subsequently replaced with other, more stable materials"
