On October 9, 2002 Finland issued a special "NORDIA 2003" one-pane booklet of four different 2.10 kroons stamps featuring Tove Jansson's "Moomins" cartoon characters. One of these stamps (Facit #1190) depicts Morran using a kerosene lamp with a mirror attachment.

Here is the 17 p value (SG #1308) from Great Britain's January 14, 1986 "Industry Year" set of four stamps. Stamp depicts a light bulb and a North Sea oil drilling platform.

Here are two from early 1930's Germany. First one is the "Meistersinger" 6 + 4 pf value (Mi #502 A) from the November 1, 1933 Wagner Operas semi-postal set of nine stamps. A kerosene lamp with mirror is shown. See the Finland "Moomins" stamp a few postings above for a pic of such a lamp, as used before the invention of the electric light bulb.

Second stamp is the 6 + 4 pf value (Mi #559) from the November 5, 1934 Professions semi-postal set of nine. A miner and a lantern are depicted.

And, here are several 1930's Germany stamps with torches. First stamp is the 12 + 6 pf value (Mi #613) from the 1936 Summer Olympics set of 8 stamps. Second pic shows the January 28, 1938 set of two stamps (Mi #s 660-1) issued to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Hitler's seizure of power.
