Here is a selection of some store fronts of some dealers in Paris. Some may ring a bell if you ever dealt in french stamps. These shops are all on rue Drouot, except the last one, rue Chateaudun(I bought something from the other day.).They all have some listings on Delcampe and other web sites.I like the Roumet front;really from Paris 1880!!

The last time I was in Paris (a depressingly long time ago), Yvert's was the only rue Drouot stamp shop that was actually open, and I was the only customer. I carried on to the Musée Moreau.

I wouldn't have a franc to my name if I could visit those shops at will.

There is also Elysabeth Berck at number 23. Lovely lady, she allowed me to browse the whole shop and then behind the counter. We didn't have a common language, but I had written out notes in advance with catalog numbers and French descriptions from Yvert, so we got it done.

Le Timbre Classique has higher-end material and ships quickly overseas from online orders, but does not accept card payments, only bank transfers. My last order moved from Paris to Texas (Austin and not Paris, Texas) in eight days.

Thanks perf12 for posting.
I think Scheller is a specialist in overprinting Indochina stamps.
I have not been able to find an email address to ask his opinion on the expertising of a "chiffres espaces" variety (YT59a-type Grasset 4c).
Can you help me?

Not directly answering your question, but you may find this list useful (some years old, I think)

Great idea for a post. Robin Philatelie is still in business though he closed his shop on rue Drouot within the past year or two. Surprisingly, Gilles Pilatte's website is no longer working. He always has (had) a very deep stock of French area.

Beautiful pics - hopefully will get a chance to visit. Last time I stayed in Paris, was actually in a flat not far at all from this street, but didn't realize it - so missed my chance for browsing/drooling...

thank you all.
perf12-at least that's what I found about Scheller.
Unfortunately I can't post the stamp with overprint, Grasset 4c, YT59a (it's the one in the Feldman auction).
