thanks for solving that Telegraph strike!

I was initially irritated, I had seen these before, but where?
Finally found them in the database, (From Victoria)
The "Belt and Buckle" type, solved by "Postmaster"

Used from 1897 until 1905, this is one from the REGISTERED LETTER BRANCH at Albany Post Office.

A nice full strike dated 13th July, 1898:

There's a NSW railway datestamp with the word special in it, but there is no place in NSW called Special as far as I'm aware.

Yes, it looks like a Sydney Special.

The letters after the 8 are 'AM' denoting the time, rather than one of the Special M types.
