To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sangkum Reastr Niyum, this set, shows Prince Norodom Sihanouk, was issued on October 31, 1964:

The Indo-Chinese People's Conference had been convened in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in March 1965 at the intiative of Prince Norodom Sihanouk in an attempt to secure international's guarantees for Cambodia's neutrality and territorial integrity. The logo of the conference was "Solidarity, Independence, Peace".

To commemorate the event, two of the above stamps, depicting Prince Sihanouk, were reissued overprinted "CONFERENCE DES PEUPLES INDOCHINOIS".

Miss Garnett spent thirteen months in Cambodia in 1955-1956 working for the International Cooperation Administration as an education consultant. Much of this collection is the result of her work in Cambodia and her continuing interest in that country.

The International Cooperation Administration (ICA) was a United States government agency operating from June 30, 1955 until September 4, 1961, responsible for foreign assistance and 'nonmilitary security' programs. It was the predecessor of the present-day U.S. Agency for International Development.

Apsara is one of the celestial singers and dancers who inhabit the heaven of the god Indra, the lord of the heavens. Originally water nymphs, the Apsaras provide sensual pleasure for both gods and men.

The Independence Monument in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, was built in 1958 to memorialize Cambodia's independence from France in 1953. It is in the form of a lotus-shaped stupa, of the style seen at the temple at Banteay Srei and other Khmer historical sites. The Independence Monument was designed by the Cambodian architect Vann Molyvann.

To commemorate the 8th anniversary of Cambodia independence, a set of 5 stamps and two SS's show the monument were issued. Here is one stamp and one SS:


A year later, on November 9, 1962, the monument was officially inaugurated. to commemorate this event, two stamps from the upper set, were revalued and overprinted "INUGURATION DU MONUMENT":

A set of five engraved stamps was issued by Cambodia on October 12, 1968 to publicize the Summer Olympic Games held in Mexico in that year. All stamps were designed by the Cambodian artist Nhek Dim.

Garuda is a Hindu demigod and divine creature mentioned in the Hindu, Buddhist and Jain faiths. Garuda is described as the king of the birds and a kite-like figure. He is shown either in a zoomorphic form (a giant bird with partially open wings) or an anthropomorphic form (a man with wings and some ornithic features). Garuda is generally portrayed as a protector with the power to swiftly travel anywhere, ever vigilant and an enemy of every serpent.
