When I started collecting two years ago, I received stamps from an Aunt in Mexico. A large percentage of those gifted "stamps" were revenues. I finally acquired a catalogue of Mexico revenues - which is a 2018 edition of Mexico revenues from Michael D. Roberts. My first step in the process, is sorting and writing down the catalogue numbers. Once I go through the process, I can decide what is the best way to display in a proper album. Starting this thread to document the process in creating a Mexico revenue album. These are scans in Vario pages for now.

As I am not a revenue purist, I just mount in the catalogue sequence
I find that the best for all my stamps.

For the dedicated Revenue collector, there is this,

Hi Rod, I think that is the route I will take. I realized that there is not a lot on SCF pertaining to Mexico Revenues and cataloging so I thought this might be a welcome addition to World Back of Book section :) More to come.

Hi Nora,
I have been tempted to purchase the DVD from Eric Jackson,
it is a good price, was disappointed it is not available for digital transmission.
Some of my mail is being held up in the US.

I'll probably dive in when my next Mexico revs, turn up.

Does the Catalogue name the gentlemen in the Vignettes?

Hi Rod - the catalogue is wonderful. I am learning so much. Absolutely the gentlemen are named. As I post, I will include the names. The catalogue is 559 pages and includes:

So a differing district, does not attract a different catalogue number?

Different districts have different catalog numbers in Roberts.

For instance the 1894-1895 Coat of Arms, renta interior, Talon revenue 1 peso is Roberts 123 (R123).

The same revenue with a Jalisco overprint is JA105.

Interestingly, this same revenue has four different perforation sizes, Perf 5 1/2 & 6 and Perf 11 & 12. Roberts did not differentiate revenues by perforations, just overprints.

I do not believe that Forbin called out revenues by overprints either. The Forbin catalog is available on stampsmarter.com

Purchased this catalogue around 6 months ago and have found it a very good resource, although I haven't used it too much. Clearly laid out & provides helpful background on issues.

Good call out on the overprints and differing catalogue numbers. Agree gmot - going through this process for me will definitely help me learn more about these revenues. The other distinction I need to look into is how to tell the difference between laid and wove paper.
