Your catalogue has an image of R 0248D. Below it says D is explosivios, no talon. But the picture has it attached. So, I'm not sure what that exactly means.

Also, please take a look on F. It says same as "C", with talon. And C is Impuesto Minero, no talon. Is that what you were looking for?

Nora, my guess is a misprint in the catalog. Having collected Mexico Revenues for some time now, I'm finding that there is less knowledge about these stamps. It's difficult to find any history about these revenues.

The catalog was compiled by the MEPSI, Mexico Elmhurst Philatelic Society, International.

Hi - thank you kuikka and Moyock. It is a little confusing for sure - it might be F, and I am not reading it correctly. Definitely not a great deal on these stamps - one of the reasons I decided to start this thread - thought it might be interesting to go through the process. Moyock since you collect, what are some of your favorite Mexico Revenues from your collection?

Oh and one more question - what does explosivos mean?

Explosivos - Spanish for Explosives. Chances are in the late 1800's early 1900's there was considerable mining in Mexico, building of railroads and military operations. The revenues marked Explosivos where a taxed item by either the federal government or local government.

I enjoy Mexican Revenues up to the Revolution, including revenue stamped paper. So I collect roughly 1830-1915. My favorite revenue is the 1894-1895 Coat of Arms R117-R128. These revenues are also numbered by local overprints, for instance the 1894-1895 Coat of Arms with the Jalisco overprint are numbered JA99 - JA110 in Roberts.

Here's a page out of my stock book. Notice that I also use the A. Forbin 1915 catalog. An interesting tidbit, some of the local districts like Jalisco printed their own revenue stamps, same as the federal stamps but maybe different colors.

Folks, I need some help on catalogue number and cat. price of some revenues from Mexico. I don't collect WW, but I've a three part Scott International I acquired several years ago that I've begun breaking down to sell. I have approx. 90 revenues. Would anyone be willing to help me with this? I can post scans in groups of whatever would be appropriate if for you if you're willing. I purchased some used Scott WW catalogue, but of course revenues are not in them. Thanks for your consideration.

If this is too many, I can break it down to a smaller group. Just let me know.

Have you checked Forbin for the numbers if that is all you need?

If you look at the stamps some say Renta Interior, or Documentation, or Contribucion. If you could group them according to that nomenclature, that would help. Also most of the stamps have year dates, if you could group them according to those dates that would help too.

One more request would be a sharper scan.

Sorry to be a pain in the keister.

I'll see if I can group them better for you. I'll also do a smaller grouping and with a 1200 scan. It not a pain at all. I really appreciative for your help. If it takes a while to get through these revenues, it fine with me I'm in no hurry to get them, just needing to get this so I can list them correctly. I'll check Forbin and see if I can find some of them as per Kuikka reminder.

Kuikka, no I didn't. I forgot about it already--Old age I guess. I'll take a look tonight after the games and see if I can get some of them found before I post anything else. Thanks for the reminder.

Moyock13, I'll start off with some I did not find in Forbin (probably there and I overlook them). This is all the ones I couldn't find. For the rest, I'll include the catalogue number for you to check and give the cat. value. Thanks Again! I won't post anymore until you are through with these.

Hi Al. I am not sure if it matters to you, but I figure Moyock can provide the answers from his catalogue (which I believe is different from mine). but if you like I have what I believe to be the Cat #s from my 2018 Mexico Revenue Stamp Catalogue from Michael Roberts (done by MEPSI). Hope this is helpful to you.

Top 2:
CF 101B (Contribución federal) Red Brown, value .25
CF 102B Blue Green , value .25
Overprint: Cuernavaca

Middle 2:
CF 113B Orange (.25) or yellow (.35)
CF 112B Brown, value .25

Bottom Two:
CF 117B Orange (.20)
CF 118B Brown (.30)

Addition: from your new images. One of your stamps is not a revenue it is a regular issue Correos. It is the Blue stamp last groups middle of top row 10 centavos. Just so you know :)

Mrita75, Thank You very much! I welcome any help I can get for these. Most of them are really just space fillers that I'll be putting into APS circuit books very cheaply for those who may want them to fill the space. I'll be on my way to bed in a few minutes if you reply again so I won't respond until tomorrow. Us old folks go to bed with the chickens and rise with the roosters. (old saying from my dad

Sounds good :) I might add some more cat#s. for you :) I am a night owl and also quizzing my boys (11 &14) on Geography to prepare for the School Geo Bee in a week (Hoping my older gets to finally compete in state - it was cancelled two years ago when the Pandemic Hit). Good night! and thanks for interacting with my thread. Nora.
