These are all custom covers (philatelic, postal history) made and postmarked with the date of Ryne Sandberg's death - July 28, 2025. The red circular date postmark is from the city of the seller's residence, Lafayette, Colorado.
The cover has either a vintage 1985, 1992, or 1993 Topps trading card as the cachet artwork. The card is in a penny sleeve and held in place by clear photo corners. This cover was never sent through the mail (hand back service requested).
The cover was initially postmarked with a black circular cancel on August 1, 1982 in Cooperstown New York as part of The MLB Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
The postage stamps in the top right corner are US Scott #1894, 1981 20c Flag over Supreme Court and #1381, 1969 6c Professional Baseball
Biographic and statistical facts were added by the seller/creator using a vintage 1967 Royal Safari typewriter:
