My Scott National Album doesn't have a space for stamp 231c, the 2 cent "Broken Hat" Columbian. It DOES have a space (on a separate page) for stamp 233a, the 4 cent Columbian stamp printed with blue ink, rather than ultramarine. I don't plan on spending over $10,000 for stamp 233a anytime soon. So I am contemplating putting the 2 cent Broken Hat Columbian stamp on the separate error page instead. (I prefer to think of myself as "thrifty" rather than "cheap"!) Here's my question: Does it seem odd to anyone else that Scott decided to have a page for the incredibly rare blue 4 cent Columbian, but not the more common (and affordable) 2 cent Broken Hat Columbian? I thought (perhaps mistakenly) that the Broken Hat stamp was a popular and collectible error. Thanks!
