For those that still find some excitement in modern
Canada Post issues, this spring's subject coil issue was a good one! As you may know, all of these Spring Flower coils have been issued in rolls of 50 stamps, and in recent past years with back numbers for customer assistance for awareness of how many stamps are left in the roll. The numbers start at '50' on the first stamp, and continue every 5 stamps to '5' near the end.
For some reason on this issue, back numbers on these stamps exist with numbers HIGHER than 50, in fact to '95'. These have been found on products sold through the Philatelic Center and NOT on actual rolls of 50 sold over the counter.
Here is my count of what I have found so far for numbers:
Gutter strips of 4 Gutter strips of 10
Back # Count Back # Count
'10' 1 '15/10' 4
'20' 7 '25/20' ---
'30' 1 '35/30' 5
'40' 8 '45/40' ---
'50' 2 '55/50' 8
'60' 7 '65/60' ---
'70' 3 '75/70' 3
'80' 8 '85/80' ---
'90' 1 '95/90' 7
Some numbers don't appear to exist at all!
I have some thoughts about how these came about, but no definite proof. Overall, a mistake by Lowe-Martin, I suspect, the printer of this issue.
Any other numbers out there??
