Here is Guernsey's December 27, 1989 domestic rate (14 p, minimum bailiwick postage) "Map and Waves" coil stamp. Stamp design has postage rate inscribed over stylized map of the island. This is a small stamp (24mm x 20.5mm). From Google, "Guernsey is the second largest of the Channel Islands, although in reality is actually a relatively small island, being around 14.5km/9 miles in length and a mere 5km/3 miles wide." |

On October 1, 1994 Jersey issued a set of five stamps commemorating the 25th anniversary of postal independence. The 23 p value (Sc #686) of the set, shown here, features a relief map of the island. The actual land mass (high tide) is the green and dark brown area on the stamp. From gov.je, "Jersey sits in the Bay of St. Malo - just 14 miles/22 km from the French coast and 85 miles/137 km south of the English coast. Jersey is the biggest of the Channel Islands...Jersey is only 5 miles/8 km long and 9 miles/14.5 km wide and is made up of 12 parishes." |
