I have thousands of Machins accumulated over the past
20 years. I`ve got to get started and sort them out
and form a collection.

I also have a box of Machins I need to sort now that I've read this thread they look more interesting.

Do all values come with the bands or just some of them,I've noticed bands on the left and the right and some have both ?

Now I've counted and sorted my Dutch monster, I can now get back to sorting and cateloging my British stuff again..this weekend will be a Machin weekend :)

I'm always on the lookout for Machin dupes..maybe we could get some sort of Machin swap ring going ?

Aussie Al..it varies. Some values only come with one type of band, others such as the 1p Crimson can come in 5 varities..2 bands, left band, right band, centre band, no band.

Thanks for your answer Maiden now I know why I have not tried sorting these before.

A Machin swap ring sounds good.

The December 6-19 2011 Canadian Stamp News has a full two page spread on Arnold Machin..when Britain declared war on Germany in 1939 he did 12 months in prison as a conscientious objector..but that does not make him a bad person, just one that wanted to stay alive !!

I may not get a chance to check until the weekend, I'll get at it as soon as I can. I assume the x's are what you have.

Is it used and soaked?
This colour appears to be prone to minor bleaching when soaked.
There is only one printer and print method according to adminware.ca.
