I'm late to the party here. Sorry!
Hello, @novato! I too collect Machins, but I am newer to the site than you. My specialties (as I wrote in my intro posting) are socked-on-the-nose examples by postmark, and two kinds of booklets: pictorial decimal machine books and pictorial folded counter books.
I love sorting Machin kiloware -- and as so many people seem to loathe the things, it is very inexpensive.
I have most of the references -- Deegam, the MCC QEII Specialised Definitives Catalogue, Bookmark Catalogue of British Decimal Postage Stamp Books, &c. -- but these days (for budgetary reasons!) I sort primarily for postmarks. When I've had more money, I've purchased booklets in bulk to check for varieties, or (better) scour dealer selections at bourses.
I'm in the process of trying to figure out how to do my next iteration of album pages for the Machins-by-postmark. Maybe I'll make a new post about that topic....
Nice, another used Machins collector,

difficult to find it in this times. I really like enjoy searching on kiloware/lots of Machins, and I put appart on a "little" bag of CDs/SOn, has trying to sort and classify this, but never thinking about make a album, sure would work fine with SOn Machins.
Do you have a book about Postmarks? The new edition go to print on Jan/2011? Want have it, but difficult with the shipping&handling prohibitive to Ecuador.
Anyway welcome to the Forum, and I hope make some trade, had many "boring" commemoratives.
Thank you
