Bumping an old thread. I spent the last 3 days sorting thru my pile of 200-300 blue fleas and came up with 21 different varieties (not counting a few blue-dark blue differences) using the chart in the original post and info from the Germany philatelic society at
https://www.germanyphilatelicsociet...nails/page/1

Below is the vario page from this effort. The only stamp that concerns me is in the middle of the second row. I found one stamp with the DP watermark perf 14 on 3 sides and 12 on top but the Byrum catalog does not show a 14 perf for this watermark. Wondering if I should label it rouletted instead.
The Germany philatelic society page had information on perforation shapes but I decided not to go down that road.

Gibby01, I have attached a spreadsheet I made a few years ago to help me sort out this issue. It's based on Michel.
Watermark 1 is DP (3 orientations), 3 is wavy lines (2 orientations), and 4 is zigzag lines with BP. (2 orientations).

Germania, thank you, that chart helps. It also gives me an idea of what to keep an eye out for in the future.
