That's a nice one! I note the Manila Post Office "First Day Cover" cancel shows April 16, 1945. Any idea why the Scott Specialized Catalog suggests that Philippines #486 (which I believe is the stamp shown as issued with those overprints) shows a date of issue as January 19, 1945? |

Quote: I note the Manila Post Office "First Day Cover" cancel shows April 16, 1945 In this instance, the "First Day" is commemorating the reopening of the Manila Post Office. Here is another one. |

Another nice one. Thanks for explaining the cancel date (it had me puzzled). |

The "Conservation Pledge" at the bottom of the Fleetwood Cachet for Water Conservation is interesting. Don't recall seeing that before. It could have just as easily been used in last week's "Go Green" stamp issue...some 51 years later, it's still relevant! |

That's a great pledge. I think I may borrow that and make a few covers up myself with similar wording. Different way to think about the Earth rather than just triggering our brain's pleasure centers by making more money. Too bad we weren't wired differently or maybe could wire ourselves differently or think differently. |

From a badly damaged cover, so I only share the corner cut square, but here's another April 18th cancel for this thread, and it also has an environmental theme: |

We've skipped a few days, so here is a late entry for Apr 10. And by US, PDT, a tad early for 4/27 |

Since we're off date a little bit, let me post this one from yesterday ... my "unofficial" first day of issue from my local purchase of the new Helen Hayes Stamp: (I still hate those spray-on postmarks, though.) |
