A nice set and a nice cancel for the 29th. It is from the Wembley site of the Olympics and shows the five ring design in the cancellation. I actually rather like the simplicity of the Art Craft presentation. |

Nice flag cancel on a postcard. It seems to me 1921 was rather late for the use of a flag cancel, but I suppose there were so many of these devices around by then that they were continually in use until replaced by newer equipment. |

For the 30th and kind of an odd cancellation from France. The slogan is in English for a start (must have been a very posh sort of year round tourist destination) and then is it a machine cancel or is it a hand roller cancel? |

Couple of late entries just because they were interesting: Don't see too many postal cards... much less from 1888 Registered for July 28, '28 And a couple of mail themed art craft covers for July 30. |

Have another old timer posted in 1865. If you flip back to July 21, you will find another posted from Bangor to the same person. And you will see that I made some comment about the small inscription on the lower left corner of the envelope. The envelope shown today also has an inscription there but a different one. And it looks to me as if the envelope's address is written in a different hand. Secret message? Filing system? Mysteries still abound. For those who will look, this stamp appears to be Plate 85. Also for August 1st, a nice looking Scouting topical from Great Britain. |

I like the last one Steve! Very nice. Here's another postal card entry - and LATE to boot. Thought you'd like this end of July offering. and some modern Art Craft covers.... IMHO, still worth looking at. One of my favorite authors and tales... something everyone should do ... and exercise... and for LB1 to want... :) Heard round the world... for good or bad. the summer passtime: and another author... I think I spent the summer between senior year and freshman reading everything he wrote. Arrgh. Talk about wasted youth. |
