On the Lithuanian card----That is a goodly amount of writing on the address side. I like the way the sender drew an arrow in the box intended for the stamp to indicate "look on the other side". I understand the recipient and his or her address, but what is all the other writing? |

Good question rohumpy, "Spausdinys" written in the top center means: printed matter. And beside the recipient's name and address, there is a date 10/11/1928, sender's full name and below that.. "4674/17"? some kind of code? Just beats me.. |

November 12 1956 Slogan refers to American Road Builders Association. http://www.expresswaysonline.com/pd..._article.pdfQuote: The initial goal in 1902 for ARM was the "Capital Connecting Government Highway," an interstate highway system connecting every state capital and the national capital. Such a highway would be the Eighth Wonder of the World, [ARM's founder, Horatio] Earle said, in anticipation of the Eisenhower System of Interstate Highways. ARM, aka American Road Makers, was the original name of ARBA. They lobbyed Congress to develop interstate highways for over 50 years before Eisenhower signed the Federal-Aid Highway Act in 1956. |

I have to admit that US Grant Letter Sheet is one I haven't seen before. The catalog doesn't do justice to it as compared to seeing the entire cover. A nice one, indeed. |
