Here is an image of a stamp depicting a worker pouring molten metal from a ladle with a human skull floating on top, designed by French artist Odette Baillais, printed by photogravure (Courvoisier, S.A.), and issued by Luxembourg on April 28, 1980 as one of a set of two stamps publicizing the 9th World Congress on Prevention of Occupational Accidents & Diseases, Amsterdam, May 6-9, Scott No. 644. MEXICO - Another stamp issued to commemorate the Day of the Dead

Looks like Mexico is a GREAT source of skeleton stamps! I have one of the issues shown myself. One of those "oh cool!" purchases!

Belgium 2014 Commemorating Andreas Vesalius, a 15th century physician who produced a very influential book on human anatomy. This stamp comes from a souvenir sheet, with other stamps showing also the muscular system and the circulatory system, and it is a joint issue with Portugal, hence there is a similar stamp of same design but labeled for Portugal.

Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of Nelson Mandela, and depicting a peace dove hounding Death, and a globe, designed by Aslam, printed by lithography, and issued by Senegal on July 31, 1987 as one of a set of three stamps publicizing solidarity against South African apartheid, Scott No. 723.

Happy Birthday to Alexander Ypsilantis (1792-1828), a Greek prince, an Imperial Russian cavalry officer, and a leader of the Filiki Eteria ("Society of Friends"), a secret organization that coordinated the beginning of the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire. Here is an image of a stamp featuring a portrait of the prince, engraved and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co., Ltd., and issued by Greece on April 1, 1930 as one of a set of eighteen stamps commemorating the centenary of Greece's independence, Scott No. 354, plus an image of a painting of Alexander Ypsilanti in Filiki Eteria attire which was probably the model for this stamp's design. Note the skull-and-crossbones insignia pin on the prince's lapel in both portraits.

Here is an image of a first day cover bearing four stamps publicizing the "Human Environment," designed by French artist Robert Perrot, printed by lithography, and issued by the United Nations on June 5, 1972, Scott Nos. 229 & 230 (New York) and 25 & 26 (Geneva). The most interesting part of this FDC is the "Environment" human skull-motif of the official Geneva cachet, designed by the "immortal" Swiss artist Hans Erni (1909- ).

Here is an image of a semi-postal (charity) stamp depicting "Death" as a skeletal figure wearing a Nazi German SS military helmet and overcoat, and spreading Zyklon B poison gas over Majdanek Prison Camp, designed by Polish artist Józef Wilczyk, printed by photogravure, and issued by Poland on April 29, 1946 to commemorate the Nazi German concentration and extermination camp established near the city of Lublin during the German occupation of Poland in World War II, Scott No. B45.
