This 1990 stamp of Poland commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and Poland's participation in that campaign. A British Supermarine Spitfire is shown.

From Wikipedia, "A total of 145 Polish fighter pilots served in the RAF during the Battle of Britain, making up the largest non-British contribution. By the end of the war, around 19,400 Poles were serving in the Polish Air Force in Great Britain and in the RAF."

On December 19, 1998 India issued this stamp (Sc #1719) to honor the birth centenary of Lt. Indra Lal Roy. The stamp depicts the flyer, his SE5a (B180) fighter, and his Distinguished Flying Cross.
