The 6c values of Norfolk Island's 1971 set commemorating the death centenary of John Coleridge Patteson shows a Bible open to Acts chapter 7. Patteson was the first Anglican bishop of Meslanesia. He died a martyr, being killed by tribesmen in the Solomon Islands. His death reflects that of early Christian martyr Stephen, who was stoned by the Sanhedrin as described in Acts 7. |
