Andrija Mohorovičić (1857-1936)



Andrija Mohorovičić was a Croatian meteorologist and seismologist.
He is best known for the eponymous Mohorovičić discontinuity and
is considered one of the founders of modern seismology.
Moho the boundary between the Earth`s crust and the mantle is named after him.

The sun, wheat, clouds, wind, and the emblem of the World Meteorological Organization, an airmail stamp designed and engraved by Jacques Combet, and issued by Burkina Faso (Upper Volta) on March 23, 1968 to publicize the 8th World Meteorological Day, Scott No. C52.

Finally! I added the weather stamp I've been wanting for a while. Normally I frown if I find a weather stamp in the $20 range, but I made an exception for this one. It's not perfect, but it was in an OK price range for me.

The India Post marked the centenary of the Indian Meteorological Department by the issuance of a commemorative postage stamp. The design depicts the stylized illustration of the weather in the background and the line drawing of a traditional weather station.
