The colours of the Flag of Burundi represent a desire for peace.
It was adopted upon Independence in 1962 with a Plant and a Drum in it's centre.
These symbols of the ruling monarchy were dropped in 1967 when the monarchy was overthrown.
The three red stars bordered in green inside a white circle represent the words of the national motto...Unity,work,Progress.
Flag Ratio 2:3

To coincide with the Queen's State Visit to Ethiopia in February 1965, a stamp was issued depicting Her Majesty and The Emperor Haille Selassie against a backdrop on their nations flags.
The stamp was printed by Courvoisier, the famous Swiss printing firm [now a part of Walsall Security Printers].

Shown below are the covers of 3 Canadian booklets recently received from one of our great members. [I know I've said that before, but all of our members ARE great].
Also, an open Booklet is shown, the 1998 Flag and Iceberg [W/A] booklet of 10. [4 stamps are folded under].

If one of our Canadian members wishes to chip in with some history about their great flag, please go ahead. Maybe add a Canadian Flag stamp too !

Canada 2005 set of Flags over scenes definitives on a First Day Cover. The O Canada is the special first day cancel. On cover they are partially imperf between stamps. When soaked off (have to find them) they are still somewhat connected together.
