Red fly agaric or Amanita muscaria is a poisonous mushroom that contains mescaline, muscimol and ibotenic acid. It has a characteristic red color hat with densely spaced white leaves. Puffball mushroom or Lycoperdon perlatum is edible and tasty mushroom; the young mushrooms are used for the dish which meat is completely white.  |

Fungi from Taiwan These two mushrooms on cover I got today from Taiwan: Morchella elata is a species of fungus in the family Morchellaceae native to Europe. It is one of many related species commonly known as the black morel. Gomphus floccosus, sometimes known as the shaggy-, scaly-, or woolly chanterelle or woolly gomphus, is a cantharelloid mushroom. |
