Cinderellas, issued in Xmas 1981 by the Philatelic Club of el Vendrell (80 km SW of Barcelona) for tuberculose fund raising. The drawings are from Joan Junceda (Barcelona, 1881 - Blanes, 1948).

Cinderellas, issued for Xmas 1976 for the Philatelic Club of el Vendrell to raise fund for tuberculose. The central one, shows the portrait of the cello player Pau Casals (el Vendrell, 1876 - Puerto Rico, 1973).

The "AVA" stands for "Amics de la Vinyeta Anti-tuberculosa" (Friends of the Anti-tuberculose Cinderellas"). Although, due to the fascist Franco's regime (1939/75) ban of the Catalan Language, up to 1980 the whole name only appeared in Spanish or Esperanto.

AVA cinderellas issued in 1977-78 written in Esperanto. There's also a Catalan text sheet printed in red. The drawings are also by Joan G. Junceda.

These are nice stamps. I would like to have them for my music-themed collection. Are they for sale? Do you know where I could get them? Thanks

Hello Collaro, I'm glad uou like these items but:
1.- They aren't stamps, but cinderellas. Do you know the differnce between them?
2.- The items that I'm showing on this thread belong to my collection. So, they're not for sale.
3.- It's however sometimes possible that I've got duplicates or I'm able to get them from the same source that I got mine. On these case I like to trade them with SCF friends
4.- I'm not able to see any introduction post of you on the proper thread. Just at the top of the list, which you should.
5.- I would suggest you to make a proper introduction and let us know about you and your collecting interests, before trying to engage on any transaction.

This is a place to share information on stamps and related items, not just an internet trade place. I hope you'll understand.

1984 and 1986 Barcelona Autumn Stamp Weeks, showing edible mushrooms, from which Catalans are great fans.

These, are very bad days for handling cinderelas in Barcelona (too hot and too damp). But, anyway, I've managed to find this nice item, with a look very much of the 70's:

Yesterday, we had the traditional (it's already the 8th Edition) August Stamp Gathering at Artesa de Segre (130 km West of Barcelona). A good time with friends, lunch and some cinderella catting and rading. This year, we've got the exceptional pleasure of sharing it with our good friend and cinderella fan Michael Hide (Londonbus), who has stopped for a few days in Barcelona on his way home from holidays on his English homeland.
As usual, a cinderella set was issued. This year, depicting some Catalonia's presidents, from XVII century to our days.

Yes, I had a wonderful time both in Barcelona and Artesa de Segre. They were memorable days in the company of our learned friend, Cursus.
I also picked up some lovely Barcelona & Catalonia Cinderellas which will form part of my new collection of this area.

I want to say a special 'Thanks' to Cursus for the time and effort he took to make me feel welcome in Catalonia, show me around some quite amazing places and tell me about his collection. His knowledge of the Stamps, Politics and history of all things Barcelona & Catalonia is immense and I am grateful to him for that.

I hope that in the future I will return to learn more about his homeland.

Thank you very much Mike, for the pictures. On the first one, you can see a view of the small show with some of the attendants(I'm the first from the right!) and an early XXth century Catalan flag. The second is a sheet of the 1919 Catalan Freedom Fighting Flag cinderellas. The third one is a melons stand (1.5 € for one); The fourth shows emergengy (1936/39 war) Artesa de Segre currency and the last one a view of the town (3.500).
