nethryk I agree, these typos kind of grow on you. They're not pretty for the most part and some are downright ugly but they have character. |

Here is an image of a stamp depicting an ancient Carthaginian galley, designed by French artist Louis-Jules Dumoulin (1860-1924), engraved by Jules-Jacques Puyplat, printed by typography, and issued for use in Tunisia in 1906, Scott No. 52. The design elements in the stamp's border are also intriguing. - nethryk |

Here is the original Czechoslovakian 1919 stamp of the chain breaking lion symbolizing an independent Czech and Slovak state (there were actually considerably more German Austrians than Slovaks but I suppose calling it Czechdeutschslovakia was just too cumbersome) Designer: J. Obrovsky Printing : Typography Michel 36 The same design was used on the SS issued for the 50th anniversary of the state but this time it was engraved. Engraver : J. Hercik Scott 1581 |

Rein, there are some cases where I still have difficulty differentiating between typography and direct lithography printed stamps. |
