And if I'm reading the information correctly, there are 78 different, known maps used. That makes almost 18,000 possible positions for any given stamp.

Hi there all. Many years ago I purchased a "lot" of items that included some stamps. Just dug them up and decided to see what they are about and ended up here. What a great forum !! So I registered and looking for some education and help. I have 2 complete sheets of Latvia stamps on maps and one complete sheet on banknotes. Anything special I should know.. did I happen to stumble on a lottery ticket or just a nice dinner out ? Any help would be appreciated... Thank you all !

A nice dinner. There are 2 sheets of Sc 1 on ebay right now. One for $600 and the second. a forgery, for $775. And I didn't check Sc 2. Which stamps on the banknotes? Because there were many on various types of banknotes.

Yes,banknote printing sheets were also used to print the stamps.
