How about stamps showing games? Playing cards, board games, video games, etc... and related items. Outdoor games, too, providing they cannot also be called "sports".  |

OK, I have found the mother lode..... Skipping, hopscotch playground wheelbarrow race leggo bubble blowing playhouse doll house building blocks jigsaw frog leaping horsies but where is knuckles  and tiddly winks? ..and a great stamp quiz question "On what stamp does Queen Elizabeth appear in a bubble?"  |

Sweden had a set of six with different board games. I could only find a pic from Delcampe, but can you name all six games by the designs?  France has a set of stamps based on popular videogames:  |

Here is an image of another chess stamp from Hungary: Chess players, printed by photogravure, and issued on April 9, 1950 to publicize the World Chess Championship in Budapest, Scott No. 889. Note that the player on the left is wearing overalls, there is a factory in the left background, and a tractor in the right background. I suppose the propaganda message was that the game of kings is a popular pastime in the workers' paradise.  - nethryk  |

Interesting observation on the Hungarian,
the artist has the player picking up the piece from the base
that's also unusual.
