Here is a set of seven stamps and SS issued by Laos on April 13, 1984 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the "International Chess Society". The stamps depict ancient illustrations. Stamps indicated by star (*) depict illustrations from King Alfonso X's book "Book of Chess, Dice and Tabling" (Libro de acedrex, dados e tablas), published in 1283: "Great Chess"*:  15th century miniature (attributed to Étienne Porchier):
