Yes there are deals...but I sometimes have to wade through a bunch of junk to find them...the good thing is..if you find an experienced dealer who has good material and reasonable shipping you try and stick with him !!

I could count on one hand how many times this was the case for me when shopping at a dealer's store or stamp show. Yet I have no less than 2 dozen favorite sellers saved in my ebay options ...

If you are going to buy of ebay use PayPal for your purchase. If your not happy you are protected and will get a refund.
Online auctions have been a blessing and curse yes they have saved may collecting hobbies as you can purchases hard to find items in the comfort of your home. You can also get ripped off. I have sold many things over the years on ebay and was paid with paypal one item was a custom made fender for a car that I use to make the part was in perfect condition when I shipped it when the purchaser received it he said it was junk etc etc and asked for a refund which he got from ebay and pay-pal. 350 DOLLARS WAS DEDUCTED FROM MY PAYPAL ACOUNT.
He never shipped the fender back to me I was out 350 plus the fender, a few weeks later he was showing off the fender on one of the custom car forums. So sorry for ranting on I just wanted to let you know if you use pay pal and are not happy with your purchase you will be fully refunded and up to you to return the purchase to the sealer. In the land of ebay the buyer is always right.
Buying a box of stamps is like buying a storage locker good luck with what you find, after all if anyone of us was to sale a box of stamps wouldn't we have a look in the box first and cherry pick the best, I know I would.

It's not that hard, you just go back to ebay, tell them it was a fraudulent auction and you'll get your money back. Might take some time while they investigate, but as with everything else, ebay is strictly "buyer beware".
