According to the Scott Catalogue, this semi-postal (charity) stamp depicts a sand fox, aka Rüppell's fox ( Vulpes rueppellii), printed by photogravure, and issued for use in Spanish Sahara on November 23, 1960 as one of a set of four animal stamps for Stamp Day, Scott No. B63. Note: Primarily because of the shape of its ears, this animal actually looks to me more like a red fox ( Vulpes vulpes) than a sand fox! (See photos below). - nethryk  Rüppell's fox, and red fox  |
