Peanuts is one of my favorite comic strips. Featuring the character Charlie Brown and his dog, the beagle Snoopy. Also known for their animated TV specials around Christmas time.

And, of course, the famous 'Snoopy and the Red Baron Snoopy's Christmas' Christmas song.

I just found this Japan 2010 Snoopy and the bird stamp on the internet while surfing. I wondered if anyone had any more stamps with any of the characters on them from Japan or anywhere else?

One of my favorite stamps is this USA issue of Snoopy on his dog house being the World War I flying ace in his Sopwith Camel bi-plane, out hunting the Red Baron.

The dings in the stamp only make it all the more realistic for me, simulating the dings and scrapes that would have been in his plane, had he had one, which of course he did! I just know it.

Snoopy's Christmas by the Royal Guardsmen, 1967

Wikipedia :

For those with older computers a MIDI audio file:
http://xmasfun.com/Lyrics.asp?ID=90

Lyrics :
O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum, [Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree]
du kannst mir sehr gefallen! [Of all the trees most lovely]

The news had come out in the First World War
The bloody Red Baron was flying once more
The Allied command ignored all of its men
And called on Snoopy to do it again.

Twas the night before Christmas, 40 below
When Snoopy went up in search of his foe
He spied the Red Baron, fiercely they fought
With ice on his wings Snoopy knew he was caught.

Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ring out from the land
Asking peace of all the world
And good will to man

The Baron had Snoopy dead in his sights
He reached for the trigger to pull it up tight
Why he didn't shoot, well, we'll never know
Or was it the bells from the village below.

Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man

The Baron made Snoopy fly to the Rhine
And forced him to land behind the enemy lines
Snoopy was certain that this was the end
When the Baron cried out, "Merry Christmas, my friend"

The Baron then offered a holiday toast
And Snoopy, our hero, saluted his host
And then with a roar they were both on their way
Each knowing they'd meet on some other day.

Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man

Christmas bells those Christmas bells
Ringing through the land
Bringing peace to all the world
And good will to man

Here's my Snoopy sheetlet. Checked my modern Japan for any of the loveable pup and couldn't find any but as Japan tends to favor modern cartoon characters in their issues I wouldn't doubt there are some floating around out there.

I still have a 45 of their earlier single "Snoopy Vs. the Red Baron" A little scratchy, but still love spinning it once in a while.

...and no, Mr. Bus. This isn't a stamp either.

Until I started looking at this on the web, I had no idea there were so many stamps and souvenir sheets issued for this comic strip. Here's another souvenir sheet:
