Odontoglossum crispum, is an epiphytic orchid from the genus Odontoglossum. It is considered by many to be the most beautiful orchid of all but is also one of the most difficult to grow.

Agrimonia eupatoria Agrimony is a wild medicinal herb in the rose family found in Europe and North America. Agrimony has been used since ancient times to treat a variety of ailments such as skin conditions, cough, sore throat, and diarrhea. The new stamp issues for Germany include a set of "Mikroworlds", photographed at the Kage Institute: http://www.schlossweissenstein.de/

The second stamp of "Mikroworlds" shows a diatom. This group of minute plants is part of the phytoplankton found in most waters on Earth. They have a vital function as absorbers of carbon dioxide as well as being at the beginning of the food chain. Deposits of ancient diatoms are quarried for diatomaceous earth, which can be used for many purposes, even as a dietary supplement because their exquisite shells are made of silica. The one on the stamp most likely belongs to the genus Diploneis. Photograph again by the Kage Institute. Quarry at Riedensheim, Germany. (glad you like them Scinde!)

(By the way, diatoms are of course not flowering plants, but one does speak of a diatom "bloom" which can pose a problem.)

Thanks for the further info, Kris.

Here's one from me...

LZ130 Graf Zeppelin II cover. This is the Flight 8 - Sudetenlandfahrt of the 30 or so flights made. This was the last of the of Zeppelins.
It features the 1938 set of stamps showing Austrian landscapes and different native flowers. This cover was dropped in Reichenberg on December 2, 1938 during flight over Sudetenland.

There is a species of Oxalis which normally has 4 leaflets and is therefore considered a lucky clover, although it isn't really a clover at all, but a member of the sorrel family. It make a lovely present at New Year, especially if it bears its pretty little flowers. Happy New Year to all!

Interesting. Oxalis is a weed that frustrates many gardeners to no end - certainly in New Zealand. It appears as a simple weed to remove, just dig out the plant, keeping intact the main bulb and the little bulblets that are clinging to it, then remove for safe disposal. But not matter how careful you are, there are going to be little bulbs that elude your endeavours. Normal weed killer is not effective.
