When I was a kid, I used to think flowers and plants could somehow think, I mean, how else could the rose or the thistle grow prickles to ward off predation. That was before I understood natural selection.
There is a plant in Thailand, one could just touch one leaf and all adjacent leaves would curl up tightly.
