Okay, so I'll give up on 1920...can anyone get this thread into the classic era with a Santa stamp? So far we're at 1970 (Canada).

Many, many years ago I lived in Boston and one of my Christmas presents was to see the Nut Cracker..ok,ok....
was very nice...

So far under "Santa" earliest I have is Canada 1970
followed by Russia 1971

I'll try "Father" Christmas now....

Nope nothing, which stands to reason I guess
the late 1960's was when more affluent families centred on giving gifts and the consumer society took hold,
forget the old "good will towards men" bit.
just fill the presents sack.

The first ever stamps produced especially for christmas cards was 1937
by Austria. The first christmas postcard produced 1848
