Quote: Wallis et Futuna overprint 1920 Kagu bird A tiny island with a tiny population, the numbers of stamps issued cannot be high. The stamps may be of interest to someone who collects French overseas territories, or a specialist bird stamper |

I like the pictorial postmark on that Venda set. There's needs to be a separate discussion for pictorial postmarks for birds. :) |

Hello Bas, welcome! Here is the other bird topical forum to also post in: Birds Perched, Birds Flying, Birds aground https://goscf.com/t/5934You have some nice stamps and cancels, birds are a favorite of mine, and cancels too, although I do not collect birds specifically. I noticed in another forum you mentioned about emails through the forum. You will have access to the forum email system and also trading, buying and selling from members when you reach 50 posts and have two weeks in. Rules are the button on top right. Also remember to visit the Introduce Yourself forum and start a thread to say Hi to the members and say a bit about yourself. Doug |

Some 'old' bird stamps- 1931 birds from Territory of New Guinea. This was the first time a Bird of Paradise appeared on a stamp from the island of New Guinea. They were to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Australian mandate over the Territory, & had the dates 1921 & 1931 in the designs. |
